Little time and Faster Editing

I am amazed at people who are great editors. I just started a part time job working as producer for a nonprofit humanitarian organization, and I work closely with another fellow producer/editor. He is a great editor.

So I am now plugging away at the editing. Logging and writing the script out for the trailer. That is my goal. There is an event next weekend that I would like to seize the opportunity to continue to get the word out about some of the issues related to this documentary and also be a part of something bigger than myself.

Praying through this process.

Back on Track and in Postproduction

One of the ways that I get creatively inspired is to watch movies. Since I myself consider myself a filmmaker of sorts, depending on what the project I have to constantly watch movies to be re-inspired.

I am now working on postproduction and giving myself a three week deadline of cutting together a trailer along with a rough cut of "Nanking Echoes" documentary project. Since the last entry, I have worked on another documentary of similar subject matter and since then, there have been many new projects springing up with much more funding, more support, and more worldwide interest in this subject.

My sis Lisa had encouraged me to ride the wave, and I hope to work hard and find some music that will work will with what I am editing. My husband Tim helped me pick out a 700 GB hard drive that I just installed in my G5, so I have the capacity now on my computer to do endless editing. I am looking forward to that. Hopefully in a week's time I'll have a good update on the progress of the postproduction process. Between translations, audio editing, and cutting together imagery, and gathering news footage, I am hopeful to move this project forward.
